From the second you walk in the door, the Pike Restaurant & Bar just oozes with character. I had the exciting task of translating it into design. Having been named after the original Long Beach Pike from the 1950's, I knew I also had to pay homage to the both the history and the aesthetic of that era, but also develop an identity exclusive to the company. Creating everything from menus and table tents to the monthly event calendar, I kept the design as unpretentious as the fish tacos, but paid attention to the important issues of readability and impact that can sometimes get lost in the crowds.
